Attendees at 2010’s National Retail Federation (NRF) show in New York City and Digital Signage Expo (DSE) in Las Vegas crowded around the Intel booth to see what all the fuss was about. On display was YCD’s MuVi Wall solution, serving vivid 4K, Ultra-HD content to an enormous 9-screen video wall of 46” Samsung 460UT screens. The displays showed amazingly vibrant time-lapse video of a bus traveling through the streets of Hong Kong. The clarity of the image left some viewers commenting that it was as if they were there. The 4K Ultra-HD content at a native resolution of 3820x2160 pixels is four times greater than 1080P and is equivalent to the resolution seen only in the most modern cinemas using digital projection technology.
YCD’s 4K media player is the first of its kind powered by a DELL desktop PC that leverages (2) Intel Xeon processors (i7 series) and (3) Matrox m-series video cards. YCD worked closely with Intel & Matrox to develop proprietary optimization software to deliver the highest performance possible from a device that costs a fraction of other solutions.
“YCD’s MuVi Wall captivates audiences with its extremely attractive and near life like decorative video wall content.” says Ron Berty, business development manager, Matrox Graphics, Inc. “It’s been a privilege to have collaborated with YCD Multimedia to help create a platform that is both visually stunning and cost effective at the same time – the effect is amazing!”
