When Oklahoma City retailer, MetroShoe Warehouse set out to find a way to create an engaging in-store environment that would also cost-effectively enhance its bottom line, the search lead directly to YCD Multimedia.
With two locations, MetroShoe Warehouse sells shoes at a moderate price point, (average $75-$85/pair) to outdoor enthusiasts and athletes as well as those looking for a variety of formal and casual styles. They wanted a way to “reach” consumers in more interesting – and deeper – ways than the average retailer.
To further its business objectives, the retailer installed a 4-screen YCD|MuVi Wall™ along with 17 individual screens throughout the store - all served by only 2 YCD|Player media players. The screens promote in-store sales and promotions such as specials for Father’s Day. They also carve out ‘concept zones’ for particular shoe brands. Currently there is a concept zone for Reef t-shirts & sandals – a co-op project with Reef.
Content for the screens is simple. MetroShoe Warehouse re-uses its own TV commercials and images and video from vendors. It also broadcasts TV feeds to show live sporting events like World Cup games and weather updates – all of which add to the energy and draw of the store.
“YCD helped us create a very branded, engaging environment that reflects the proper ‘mood’ as the shopper moves from one area to the next - from outdoors, to sports, to formal” said Jason Parks, President, MetroShoe Warehouse. “The YCD solution is very flexible. We find it easy to schedule content in advance for holidays and it’s easy to change content as the merchandising floor is rearranged. It’s very cost effective and it definitely adds to the customer experience.”
