Russia’s Burgeoning Digital Solution

These days, it seems that Russia is more frequently associated with Digital Signage than cold snowy winters, and increasingly so. Russia stands out as one of the industry most rapidly expanding markets for digital signage and is now looked upon as one of the world’s fastest growing strategic markets in digital marketing.

YCD at this year's ISR

YCD has seen a dramatic uptick in the number of installations in and around the Russian capital of Moscow. In 2011 alone, the number of installations to date have nearly doubled all deployments from previous years combined. Partnerships with Russian resellers have become a boon to business and the technology- hungry retailers in Russia have shown an eagerness to embrace digital that is unseen in most markets.

Not only has YCD experienced the impact of this rapid growth. C-nario, now part of the YCD family, has made significant in-roads in Russian markets as well. Colleges and Universities, including Bauman University highlight recent C-nario deployments.

Installations at KFC and Burger King, designed in collaboration with Increditechs, a Russian Digital Signage partner, have developed a growing list of QSR deployments in Moscow and the surrounding areas. Not only has this growth been evident in QSR and Fast Casual dining chains, but also in healthcare, where a comprehensive solution at Moscow Rehabilitation Center provides entertainment, communication and treatment information all from a centrally managed solution

All of this has been highlighted by the 2011 ISR tradeshow, where YCD presented with Intel and its partners Increditechs and Polymedia, assembling a 9-screen video wall, along with a 4-screen video collage and a 3-screen digital menu board to exhibit the software capabilities of YCD|RAMP and C-nario messenger in managing digital signage campaigns in everything from retail to QSR and banking.

"More and more digital signage systems appear on the streets, especially in the retail market, but the utilization of digital media power is still conducted in relatively simple and primitive ways with little management capability," said Uri Shmueli, Dir. of Operations, ROW. "By using the full spectrum of YCD digital media solutions our partners can offer a complete solution which allows their customers to take advantage of technology and maximize efficiency, thereby enhancing their product promotions, creating brand exposure and increasing client/customer communication through interactivity."
