Happy New Year!

We ring in 2010 on an optimistic note. During the 2009 holiday shopping season retailers saw an increase in consumer spending and it is anticipated that this trend may indicate a general turn around in the economy in the months ahead.

I expect to see real progress in adopting smart, in-store digital media solutions in the coming year. Consumers are receptive to relevant information and don’t want to be bombarded by irrelevant promotions. Innovative technology is available today to address some of these challenges and we at YCD are committed to helping our retail clients provide the best environment for their customers using our latest cutting-edge solutions.

In just a few days time, January 10-13, retailers from around the globe will converge on New York’s Jacob Javits Center to attend the industry’s largest gathering: the National Retail Federation’s ‘Retail’s BIG Show’. I expect the hall to be filled with positive energy as the industry moves forward utilizing new in-store technologies.

This year YCD will have a big presence at the show. We will present various in-store media solutions together with the leading companies in the industry. At the INTEL booth (#1361) we will demonstrate for the first time our new RAMP™ platform, a web-based campaign management solution for managing digital media workflow that closes the loop between in-store promotions and actual sales. We will also present the first ever 4K video media player; operated by a standard PC with Intel’s newest processors running the latest YCD|Player software.

We will also be presenting our integrated POS solution together with Retalix (booth #2117). The joint solution allows retailers to personalize relevant messages and promotions based on the customer’s loyalty card data and purchasing history. For the first time promotions are selected not randomly or simply on day-part, but based on actual customer preferences in real-time. Finally, we will present our MuVi Wall™ ambiance technology together with Graj & Gustavsen at their booth.

In this newsletter we are excited to highlight for you just some of our recent projects around the world; our project with Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in the US, retailer Ed Hardy in the UK and Australia and Arcaffé in Israel. We will continue to update you throughout 2010 with details of our new projects and activities.
