Employee Spotlight: Guy Shavitt

Vice President R&D

Guy has been with YCD since 2000 and has built the R&D team to 20 people. Under his leadership the team works to develop innovative solutions and technology, to help YCD Multimedia’s customers and partners face today’s business challenges. His mantra is “innovation.” By embodying it, he has successfully kept the company’s technology offering at the forefront of the digital in-store media market.

YCD Multimedia’s R&D team is dedicated to changing the way retailers think about the point-of-sale experience by developing solutions that enable businesses to “close the loop” between promotions and sales. Guy and his team strive to refine the technology platform that balances the three applications of digital media concurrently: increasing sales through digital merchandising, reinforcing brand and enhancing customer experience through digital ambiance, as well as raising employee's motivation and engagement through corporate communications.

The R&D group works to a multi-year development "Road Map," developed in conjunction with sales and product management. In addition, a team within the group focuses on shorter-term customization and integration projects to meet specific customer needs.

"Our philosophy is to keep everyone within the R&D group current on market trends and customer needs, to ensure we are developing the best products and integration solutions available. Our focus is on creating the tools and providing the solutions that drive our customers’ businesses. Their success is our success".

Guy holds a B.A. in Computer Science and Management from the Open University of Israel, and graduated as a Software Engineer from the Israeli Institute for Technology, after serving as Senior System Programmer in the Israeli Defense Forces Intelligence Central Computer Unit for 6 years.

In addition to being a husband and a father to 2 little girls, Guy enjoys spending his very limited "free time" sampling fine restaurants, going to movies and listening to music - waiting for the day he'll have the time to take up playing the drums again.
